About the skin

The skin does not only need aesthetic care. In fact, it is a complex organ, which protects our whole body, regulates its temperature and allows us to exercise tactile sense, mediating contact with the outside.

What is scrubbing?

Gum is the aesthetic intervention to exfoliate the surface layer of the skin – the epidermis – with the help of various substances. Today there are a lot of chemical scrubs, which, in our opinion, can affect our skin.

However, you can prepare your own natural exfoliants, less aggressive and cheaper, as you will be convinced.

Why is it good to prepare your own natural exfoliants?

The surface layer of our skin is actually made up of dead cells that formed in the lower layers and matured as they surfaced. It can be said that every day we lose more than 30,000 epidermal cells.

Therefore, if we use an exfoliant from time to time, we will have the following benefits:

  • Improving the appearance of the skin
  • Activation of collagen formation
  • Improving blood circulation
  • Prevent wrinkles and increase skin firmness
  • A more velvety skin
  • Cleansing the skin of toxins and freeing pores
  • Prevention and blurring of stretch marks
  • A naturally brighter skin

However, rubber should not be abused so as not to disrupt the process of natural cell regeneration. Therefore, we recommend that this cosmetic intervention be done only once a week.

Prepare your own natural scrubs with the following ingredients:

First of all you need natural ingredients with an exfoliating role. Depending on the issues you want to address, choose one of the following ingredients:

  • Baking soda : an alkalizing, gently acting substance, perfect for facial skin and sensitive areas
  • Sugar : medium intensity exfoliant
  • Coarse salt : perfect for less sensitive areas with blood circulation problems, cellulite and stretch marks

Use one of the above ingredients as a base, over which you add vegetable oils:

  • For dry skin : olive oil and / or rosehip oil
  • For combination and normal skin : coconut or sesame oil
  • For oily skin : aloe vera gel or coconut oil

  • Oranges : with antidepressant and toning role
  • Lemon : with a purifying role
  • Geranium : with a regenerating role
  • Rosemary : to improve blood circulation
  • Tea tree or palmarosa (Turkish geranium) : for acne prone skin

All you have to do to get the exfoliating lotion is mix all of the above ingredients in a glass jar, which you can then store in a dry or cool place or in the refrigerator.

Other ideas for natural exfoliants

If you want to give the exfoliating lotion a truly unique note to give as a gift, you can add other ingredients such as:

  • For an exfoliating stimulant and aphrodisiac effect : cinnamon and ground ginger and a few drops of ylang-ylang essential oil
  • For a fragrant and refreshing exfoliating lotion : orange or tangerine essential oil plus grated orange peel
  • For an even more fragrant exfoliant : cocoa powder and a few drops of peppermint essential oil

How to apply exfoliating lotions?

Apply a little exfoliating lotion on wet skin after bathing, and massage gently in circular motions. You can apply it on the entire surface of the body, except on sensitive areas, such as around the eyes. On the thighs and buttocks you can massage more insistently and you will feel how the blood circulation is activated.

Leave the exfoliant on for 1-2 minutes and then remove it with water. The skin will be hydrated thanks to the oils. For those with dry skin, we recommend applying a little moisturizing body milk.
